Exhibition Proposals / Hire

Situated on Level One of historic Lopdell House in the beautiful west auckland village of Titirangi, the Upstairs Art Gallery is a unique community gallery with a focus on emerging artists from the Waitakere's and the greater Auckland area.

Enter the building and take the vintage lift to the first floor, or venture up the elegant spiral staircase. The Upstairs Art Gallery is beautifully presented with a large glass wall entry and spectacular views out to the Manukau Harbour.

Currently hosting an average of approximately 900 visitors per month, the gallery space is available for hire periods of 24 days duration.

We anticipate the opening of Te Uru, Waitakere Contemporary Gallery, will be late 2014. Te Uru is under construction right next door to Lopdell House and can be accessed via 3 connected, encased walkways. This will naturally increase visitor numbers dramatically.

The current visitor demographic is largely tourist and community.

Each exhibition opens on a Thursday evening with an opening celebration after a set-up period of 3 1/2 days, is open 7 days from 10am-4:00pm, and closes on a Sunday at 4pm.

The gallery is staffed by a team of fabulous volunteers, however the current exhibitor is also expected to cover at least one volunteer shift during their show as part of the contractual agreement. Shifts are usually for a period of 3 hours.
