In this workshop, Richard will help you form your own special handmade bowls using traditional Japanese techniques that are simple forms of pottery which are often thought of as sculptural, slow and intentional ways of creating, but ways that can result in a beautiful organic shape that is individual to the maker.
You will make two bowls by coiling and pinching clay into a unique form of your choosing on a banding wheel, then you will decorate your personal bowls with pattern and texture to make them uniquely yours.
You will be offered a selection of different glazes to choose from and your completed pieces will be bisque fired, glazed and fired again by your tutor, and ready for you approximately 3-4 weeks after your workshop.
