Ute Wallbach

With over two decades of artistic exploration, Ute transitioned from painting to the expressive world of clay.

Since retiring from a career in IT in 2020, she has devoted herself fully to ceramics — with a particular focus on hand-building. This technique lets the clay lead, allowing for organic, intuitive forms to emerge naturally.

Her work is inspired by her travels, and often weaves together themes of sustainability, colour, and the natural world. Many of her pieces are made up of multiple components that come together as one, reflecting a sense of unity and harmony. Each creation tells a story, capturing the essence of the places and cultures she has encountered along the way.

‘Pathfinder’ — Standing stones, cairns, inukshuks, markers... This piece is inspired by our need to find direction and leave traceable signs as we journey through life.
