About Us
The Upstairs Art Gallery is a 100% non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting emerging artists and making art accessible to all. Located in the historic Lopdell House in Titirangi, we provide a platform for local artists to exhibit their work and connect with the community. Through exhibitions and events, we foster creativity and offer a space where artists and art lovers alike can come together. All proceeds go directly toward supporting our artists and enriching the local arts scene.

Role Overview
As our Social Media volunteer, you’ll have the freedom to think outside the box and get creative with video content that truly grabs attention on Instagram. Your mission? To create fun and inspiring reels that resonate with our target audience and make an impact. We’re all about inspiring our audience, and your content can do just that!

Key Responsibilities

• Generate creative content ideas that reflect the gallery’s values and exhibits.

• Stay up-to-date with social media trends to keep our content fresh and engaging.

• Create and post a minimum of 2 Instagram Reels per week. 

• Analyse performance and use learnings to optimise your video content.

Skills

• Knowledge of social media platforms and Instagram Reels editing

• Knowledge of other online marketing areas like Google Ads, SEO, and website conversion optimisation is a plus, but not essential 

Time Commitment

• Minimum availability of 3 hours per week

• Flexible work arrangement: you can work on location in our beautiful gallery in Lopdell House or from the comfort of your home.

Gallery Assistant

Join Our Creative Community as a Gallery Assistant!

At the Upstairs Gallery, there’s always something new and inspiring happening. With monthly-changing exhibitions, we’re a vibrant hub for locals and tourists alike. Volunteering with us means being part of a welcoming space where art meets community. You'll meet people from all walks of life, and as you arrive each morning, you’ll hear the village’s heartbeat—coffee beans grinding and cutlery clinking, with the best cafes just a stone’s throw away.

What You'll Do:

• Manage the gallery solo during weekends, or join us on weekdays for flexible 3-hour shifts that fit your schedule

• Open or close the gallery, welcome visitors and provide them with exhibition information

• Keep our welcoming atmosphere alive by sharing stories and engaging with visitors, creating an inviting space where everyone feels welcome
