Grace Thresher

Grace Thresher is a multidisciplinary artist working in mixed media — including paint, print, ceramics, collage, and photography. Born in Birmingham, England, she emigrated to New Zealand with her family in 1995 and has lived across various parts of Auckland ever since.

Her love for creativity emerged early and continued through school, eventually leading her to study Fine Arts at Elam, University of Auckland, where she graduated in 2014. After several years abroad, she returned to Aotearoa in 2017 with a renewed passion for the arts. Since then, she has worked in curatorial and arts-related roles and has exhibited both individually and in group shows.

Grace’s practice is inspired by nature — particularly aquatic and terrestrial life. Her work brings out the intricacies, textures, and layers found in the natural world, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the details. Each piece aims to mirror the quiet precision she sees in her surroundings, turning close observation into immersive experience.

Tide Line, 2025 — Hand-crafted ceramics.
A ceramic reflection on the meeting point between land and sea, capturing the shifting textures and forms found along Aotearoa’s wild coastal edge.
